Walks & Talks

As well as creating this website, I also take my research and stories about theatre in the round and Scarborough out into the community. Currently, I do this via walks and talks, both of which are also available to book here.

Heritage Walks

I give walking tours of Scarborough for between one and six people looking at the history and development of theatre in the round in Scarborough.

Th walk not only takes in the three homes of theatre in the round in Scarborough but also other key points of interest as well as some of the many locations which were considered as new homes for theatre in the round during the 1960s and 1970s.

The subject of the talk can be tailored for each walk, emphasising - for example - Alan Ayckbourn's relationship with the town or the history of theatre in the round.

The walk takes between 60 minutes and 90 minutes - depending on the route taken, preferences of the party, stops and questions asked.

Please note, this is a walking heritage tour and does not actually enter any of the buildings - such as the Stephen Joseph Theatre - which are featured on the tour.

Talks can be booked for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons and most evenings from May through September. They are dependent on the weather and may be cancelled or altered if the weather is prohibitive.

Cost:
Private Tour (1 or 2 people): £30
Group Tour (3 - 6 people): £10 per person
