Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round: Designs

The Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round, Scarborough, was the second home of theatre in the round in Scarborough and was built on the ground floor of the former Westwood County Modern School. It opened on 26 October 1976 following a 60 day conversion from the school to theatre.

The main theatre held 308 seats whilst the smaller end-stage studio space held 70 seats. The Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round was designed by Scarborough architect, George Alderson. This page contains designs for the Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round. Click on an image to enlarge.
